Woke up today to policemen knocking on our door. Apparently there is this fugitive that escaped police custody last seen on our road.

Today was chaotic. Edited and sequenced scripts while Maisie drowned me in jargon. Later went to Charlene's house to work. Oh well it was fun.

Made Raspberry Macarons with chocolate ganache. I dont like the colour, it morphed in the oven. Anyway I was dying to experiment with a fruity raspberry ganache, but the supermarket was out of frozen raspberries. Fresh ones are expensive, and I already bought a tonne of cherries):

Andd, I found passionfruit at the supermarket! So that makes today a happy day(:

Madagascar Bourbon vanilla bean cupcakes with Swiss raspberry meringue buttercream. Or just raspberry vanilla cupcakes. (: I love the batter when its flecked with vanilla bean seeds, it makes it look like ice cream. I have a fruit puree, no food colouring buttercream obsession. The colour is so much prettier that way.

Sleepless nights.

So, Sur La Table, Williams Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, Le Gourmet and tons of other reasons of happiness. Beloved Nielson-Massey, incredible prices at only S$12. Raspberry extract, gel food colours, the tiniest of springforms, assorment of cupcake liners. Baking chips are amazing, at only $3 for dark /white chocolate /peanut butter /butterscotch, 1/3 price in Singapore. And, so you think you can dance3(:

From the land where the sun never sets.

Its crazy here I tell you. We are all the way down south, yet the sun only sets at midnight. When it does, its rays never go beyond the horizon, they light the sky with a pale glow. Its so bright you can never see the stars, and night rays stream into your room even with your curtains closed (you can read with the light). And after only 4 hours of dark, the sun rises again at 4, determined not to let the world miss its presence. Furthur up north in the artic circle the sun never sets for the whole of summer, a day is 2 months long.

Its even crazier in the winter, when the sun never rises. And the night sky is lit up with eerie multi-coloured glow sweeping across the skies called aurora borealis.

Anyway, its unbelievably hot here. People here wear short sleeves and tanks. I think its global warming.

Today between remedial we went to Bukit Timah market for lunch, and some of us decided to walk back and the rest took a cab.
